TrainDL in the main program of INFORMATIK2021

At the yearly conference of the German Informatics Society, TrainDL was presented on several occasions.

At the start of INFORMATIK2021, the annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Informatik, (GI) the TrainDL project was presented at the event "AI in Schools". This side event was co-organized by the KI-Campus together with the GI. Central questions were discussed by the participants: How can artificial intelligence be brought into schools as an educational subject? Which contents are central? According to which premises are they selected and which basics of other subjects have to be ensured?

Anna Sarah Lieckfeld, GI project coordinator, presented the TrainDL core ideas and particularly addressed the practical findings from the first round of policy building workshops, in which suitable formats and modules for AI and data education of teachers had been elicited with decision makers.

Co-organizer was the pilot project "AI Campus - The Learning Platform for Artificial Intelligence", which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Shortly after, TrainDL project partner Viktoriya Olari (FU Berlin) was a speaker in the main program of INFORMATIK2021 and spoke live in the studio about the project goals and the possibilities of comprehensive digital teacher education. Joining Ms. Olari on the panel were Prof. Dr. Ira Diethelm (University of Oldenburg), Madhumalti Sharma (Workshop4Me, Codeweek Europe) and Dr. Georgi Dimitrov (Head of the Digital Education Unit, European Commission), resulting in a lively discussion around the topic of "Digtal Education in Europe". The panel was preceded by a presentation by Georgi Dimitrov, who showed why European cooperation in the field of digital education is so important.

The lecture and the panel "Digital Education in Europe" can be re-watched on the GI YouTube channel.
