Free University of Berlin
University
The Free University of Berlin (FU) has twelve departments and three central institutes, which together offer more than 184 different degree programmes in a wide range of humanities, social and natural science disciplines. An extensive range of training and further education courses, from individual tuition to advanced master's degree programmes, complements the academic offerings for prospective students.
The Institute of Computer Science at the FU Berlin is part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and its research and teaching is geared towards an open and digital society. In addition to the security of information systems and discrete algorithm implementation, the focus in research is on the smart handling of large amounts of data. In teaching, the focus is equally on the fundamentals as well as on the secure application of information systems and their impact on society. The institute's research groups strive for a high degree of application relevance and a wide range of content. Current topics are e.g. Secure Identity (Prof. Dr. Roth), Didactics of Computer Science (Prof. Dr. Romeike) and Algorithmic Bioinformatics (Prof. Dr. Reinert).
The FU will develop and provide the pedagogical methods and tools for TrainDL's data literacy and artificial intelligence interventions, design the experimental protocol and carry out its implementation in relation to secondary schools, and support the intervention in primary schools. The FU is leading work package 2 "Secondary Education".
