„Bringing people to the table who work in different ways and different settings is what makes the project so interesting for me.“ – Interview with Anna Sarah Lieckfeld

TrainDL is your first Erasmus Plus project – what about this project has been particularly exciting for you?

For me, something that sets this project apart from others is definitely the work with the ministries and authorities. Fostering cooperation between our research partners and public authorities always makes for interesting exchanges. Besides this, furthering my own knowledge on AI and Data Literacy Education is always a welcome plus.

How do you make sure to produce project results that offer knowledge transferable for countries all across Europe?

Within our project, we have three different national educational systems, and on top, we have 16 federal state-led subsystems in Germany. This is a very good basis to identify processes and ideas that work for varying systems. The Policy Experimentation design of the project is a way to make sure that we reflect on all outcomes with public authorities from three and more European countries. Apart from connecting with other researchers, for example at European and international conferences, there is also the TrainDL Advisory Board with partners from nine countries that can be consulted for an outside perspective.

The project unites many different people from various countries. How do all of these people work together?

At the heart of TrainDL certainly are our Regular Meetings, where all work package leaders and staff meet every month to speak through all the milestones, events, and activities that are important at the moment. It is a space to share insights, get help and coordinate all bilateral meetings. While it is obviously sometimes a challenge to cooperate across borders, languages, and disciplines, it is at the same time what makes these types of collaborations as exciting as they are. Bringing people to the table who work in different ways and different settings is what makes the project so interesting for me.
