TrainDL at the EDU|Days 22: Workshop on data and AI literacy in the classroom

A fundamental understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the central role of data is of increasing importance for all people. Computer science teachers, as well as teachers of all STEM subjects, should be supported in integrating these topics into the classroom in an accessible and knowledgeable way.

On April 7, 2022, the TrainDL partner Austrian Computer Society (OCG) conducted a teacher workshop on the project at the EDU|Days 2022 in Austria. EDU|days is a conference for teachers of all subjects with the objective of critically reflecting on teaching and learning with digital media in school and providing impulses for optimal use. The target group of the event are teachers from Austria and neighboring countries.

The workshop addressed two questions: What is AI and what does it have to do with data? What is the relevance of these topics for schools? The participants were introduced to the project and its findings and offered the chance to get to know teaching materials from TrainDL under the motto: discover, experience and try out by means of practical exercises.
