Teacher training at the Lithuanian National Education Agency

As part of the TrainDL project, a workshop for primary school teachers on "Artificial Intelligence and Data Literacy" took place on April 5, 2022, at the National Education Agency. The lecturers, Prof. Valentina Dagienė (Ph.D.) and Vaida Masiulionytė-Dagienė (Ph.D.) from TrainDL project partner Vilnius University, shared their knowledge on Artificial Intelligence and Data Literacy. The participants discussed what artificial intelligence is, where and how it is used, and shared useful sources of information.

During the workshop, a discussion was held on AI in primary education. The participants were introduced to Artificial Intelligence and the basics of AI education through practical exercises with a board game. The practical session explained the principles of AI and the importance of big data. In today's context, where we receive more information than we can process, AI is becoming increasingly important. The gamified approach makes it much easier for primary school teachers and pupils to understand the basic principles of a complex topic like AI. Carefully crafted visual information has made it possible to understand how AI is becoming an integral part of everyday processes.
