Wolfgang Pree is a Full Professor of computer science at the University of Salzburg. His research area is software engineering, in particular software design principles, and machine learning. His C. Doppler Laboratory Embedded Software Systems focused on real-time software in automotive and automation systems. The research results have been further developed and are used in Daimler electric vehicles since 2019/20. He has also been pioneering autonomous trains in the autoBAHN project since 2008.

Wolfgang Pree initiated Go4IT in 2017: high school students (‘AHS’ in Austria) from 9thgrade on can attend introductory computer science courses at the University of Salzburg.
